Welcome to the Teddy bear barn. My name is Allen Hsu. I was born in Taipei, Taiwan, a very beautiful country in Asia. Ever since I was a child, I have had a great interest in plush stuffed toy animals. My mother owned a tailor store and always made different stuffed toy animals for me. Throughout my life, I collected many stuffed toy animals but none of them are handmade artist bears.
After I arrived in America, by a lucky chance, I met Kathy Wallace, a famous teddy bear artist, and she taught me how to make my first handmade mohair teddy bear. That is when I fell in love with this amazing world of stuffed teddy bears.
About a year later, I took some classes from Linda Hood and I began to create my own teddy bears in 2005.
By day, I am a full time CPA in a local accounting firm. I only have limited time to improve my teddy bear making skills, but I still manage to create 50 or so bears a year. In the beginning, I only made the bears for my family and friends, and then people around me liked what they saw and started to ask me to make bears specifically for them.
Bear after bear, I found my path in my teddy bear creating. I wanted my bears to look happy and be good companions to their owners. Some of my bears have become the best of friends with their owners. Some of my bears are bought for new born babies, so they can grow up with them together.
I only use the best material to make my bears. All my bears are fully jointed and they are made either with Schultz mohair or alpaca. My teddy bears are considered collectible works of art and not just toys. The bears are not recommended for children under three years old to use as a toy.
I have shipped my bears all over the world. Most of my customers are in Asia, but a lot of them are in the U.S. as well. Now … Sit back and enjoy my pictures gallery and if you have any question or would like to place a special order, please feel free to contact me by email at firstname.lastname@example.org . I will try my best to accommodate your special requests.
